Some 20 years ago a little girl named Niamh was taking an Irish dance class in Ireland, while her twin brother, Gavin, watched with their mom.
At one point the teacher decided it was time for a ceili dance.
“They needed eight people and they were one boy short,” Gavin Shevlin said, remembering how he stepped in and immediately liked what he was doing.
“I liked the rhythm; I liked the social aspect; I liked the friends I made through it,” said Gavin Shevlin, who is still making friends through the art of Irish dance — among them fans around the world who have experienced the music and dance of the Emerald Isle through the touring show “A Taste of Ireland.”
“A Taste of Ireland” will come to Northeastern Pennsylvania for a performance at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at The Theater at North,
