PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - The City of Pineville is taking new steps to grow and modernize its municipal airport.
At the September 9 city council meeting, leaders introduced two ordinances designed to bring in more activity and revenue.
Earlier this year, the airport received a newly paved runway. Now, the city wants to build on that investment.
The first ordinance would allow the city to lease space to hangar owners at the airport. The second would advertise for a new fixed-base operator, someone granted the right to provide services to general and business aviation.
City of Pineville Chief Operations Officer Darrell Basco said legal research shows these topics haven’t been addressed since 1999. He added that the goal is to see Pineville grow and thrive like other communities in Central
