NICKERSON, Kan. (KAKE) — Former Nickerson basketball standout Ava Jones is now in remission after a battle with stage four Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Jones, who survived a 2022 car crash in Louisville that killed her father and critically injured her mother, was later diagnosed with cancer during her sophomore year of college at the University of Iowa. She underwent 12 rounds of chemotherapy over six months.
