LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — Liberty County schools officially have a new superintendent, officials confirmed Tuesday night.

The Liberty County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Debra Frazier as superintendent, a role she will hold through June 2026.

Frazier came out of retirement to serve as interim superintendent following Franklin Perry's retirement in June. Perry retired after serving in his tole since 2018.

Though she retired, she is no stranger to Liberty County schools and has been part of the school system since 1984.

Over her years in education, she has served as a principal at both the middle and high school levels. She later served as a leadership coach and mentor.
