CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – West Virginia’s Teacher and School Service Personnel of the Year awards have been handed out.

The West Virginia Department of Education recognized those recipients on Tuesday night. Five finalists for each category attended the service.

From our region, teachers Nicole Pratt from East Lynn Elementary and Brooke Davis from Buffalo High School were recognized, along with Kristi Damron from Scott Teays Elementary School, who was one of the finalists for school service personnel.

And congratulations to Tiffany Barnes from Wheeling Middle School, who won Teacher of the Year.

Also, congratulations to Brandon Kelley from Washington District Elementary School in Upshur County, who won School Service Personnel of the Year.
