FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials with Floyd County Schools reported a high number of bus drivers called in sick Tuesday amidst contract negotiations with the school district.
The district posted a PSA to families early Tuesday morning, after reportedly receiving “call-in” emails from more than half of the district’s bus drivers overnight.
A few hours after announcing the issue, officials with the school district shared more details about the mass call-in through a news release. They confirmed 32 bus drivers called in, citing sickness or other issues preventing them from running their routes.
