SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Business Improvement District announced Tuesday that its end-of-summer sidewalk sale, which was scheduled for Wednesday, has been canceled due to a water main break.

The event was scheduled to happen on Wednesday on Market Street, but when a 22News crew visited the site, there was a giant hole in the middle of the road.

The district says limited access and resources also contribute to the event's closure.
