WARREN – With a young team, Warren Cousino may take some lumps this season.

Consider Monday’s performance a possible turning of the corner.

The host Patriots built a 3-0 lead on visiting Utica Ford II before holding on to a 3-1 victory over the Falcons in Macomb Area Conference White Division play.

While Cousino has been outscored 17-10 this season and even shutout four times – one must take in into perspective. The Patriots are one of the youngest teams in the entire MAC. They have seven freshmen and two sophomores gaining minutes on varsity.

The program has also been very competitive in the last decade, and even won a Division 1 district crown in 2023.
