At 1:02 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch valid between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Oregon Lower Treasure Valley as well as Harney, Baker and Malheur counties.

The weather service describes, “Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible especially across the Falls, Cow Valley and Durkee burn scars.”

“Heavy rainfall could trigger flash flooding or debris flows in and near recent wildfire burn scars,” adds the weather service. “You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.”
