CaroMont Health Park was buzzing with activity recently for the annual Make ‘m Smile event.

Hosted by First Assembly of God in Gastonia, Make ‘m Smile began in 2003 by Nathaniel’s Hope, an Orlando-based organization dedicated to celebrating children with special needs.

It was founded as a way to celebrate and remember the birthday of Nathaniel Timothy Kuck, a child who was born with special needs on June 6, 1997, and passed away just over four years later, according to nathanielshope.org .
