CLEVELAND (WJW) — FOX 8 is once again hosting the annual Dick Goddard APL Telethon Wednesday, with proceeds from the fundraiser supporting the four foots at the Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL).

The telethon starts at 6 a.m. on Fox 8 News in the morning, running through 7:30 p.m. in an effort to raise funds. Call or text the numbers in the graphic above to donate.

But where do donations go?

The APL, which works to protect companion animals and serve the community, uses the money to give pets a chance at a loving home. The Wiley Avenue offices are at work all of the time, performing surgeries, spay and neuter services, dental procedures and more on thousands of animals.

It costs about $500 per animal for routine care.
