When it comes to budget supermarkets, my weekly shop is usually a toss-up between Aldi and Lidl. In my view, both are significantly cheaper than the UK's Big Four supermarkets - Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons, particularly when purchasing items such as meat, pantry staples, and fresh fruit and vegetables.
Both Aldi and Lidl are renowned for their no-frills approach, excellent own-brand products, and have garnered a cult following due to their middle aisles brimming with unexpected finds. However, after months of dividing my shopping between the two and comparing the total cost, I've made my decision: Aldi is the superior choice - and officially the more affordable one, too.
