CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Canton woman testified Tuesday that she was lured to Cleveland and raped by a man who had responded to her advertisement on an adult entertainment website.
She is one of six women who Cuyahoga County prosecutors say fell prey to Michael Mann’s schemes. He is charged with nine counts of rape and six counts of kidnapping. Prosecutors said the incidents happened between 2021 and 2024.
Mann, 53, of Shaker Heights, sat before Common Pleas Judge David Matia on Tuesday morning as attorneys traded opening statements.
“He would contact women; he would lure women to him,” said Megan Helton, an assistant county prosecutor. “He would get them to trust him, and then he would sexually assault them.”
The victims were contacted through online advertisements they posted on websites
