BRAINERD -- Taryn Mithun was just ready.
Despite being her second varsity season, the Brainerd Warriors sophomore was promoted from No. 3 singles to No. 1 singles for the girls’ tennis team. She has not disappointed.
Mithun is 11-3 in the early season and went 5-0 last week, including a 4-0 showing at the Moose Tournament Saturday, Sept. 6 , to win the No. 1 singles title and lead Brainerd to the team championship.
“I honestly wasn’t that nervous,” Mithun said about making the jump. “I did a lot of tournaments over the summer. I feel like it hasn’t been that big of a jump. I’ve played some really good players, but I know that it will only make me better, especially with most of them being two years older than me.”
Mithun said the biggest adjustments have been the length of the points
