Construction on the Highway 104 holding lane and traffic management system for the Kingston Ferry Terminal will begin next Monday, the latest step in what could ease ferry-related traffic congestion downtown in the near future.

Kitsap County announced Tuesday that crews will start work Monday, Sept. 15 on a $1.4-million project that hopes to address ferry-loading backups clogging the downtown corridor leading to the ferry terminal.
