Tree falls on 120-gallon propane tank in Marion County, causing leak

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A tree fell on a 120-gallon propane tank Tuesday morning, causing a gas leak in Marion County, according to firefighters.

Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the 1400 block of NE 59th Street in Ocala, where they found the propane tank half-full and “actively leaking.”

Multiple crews responded and firefighters were able to secure the tank.

They then used multi-gas detectors to monitor conditions until the scene was “stabilized.”

“Thanks to the quick response and teamwork of our crews, this potentially dangerous situation was brought under control without further incident,” fire rescue said in a social media post.
