LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)-- Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff report a woman was killed in a three-car crash Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Moscow Road near Vrooman Road. Investigators say a 41-year-old woman from Jonesville was driving north on Moscow Road in a Mazda convertible. She attempted to pass a pick-up truck towing a small trailer.

According to the investigation, as she attempted to pass, she had oncoming traffic and failed to maneuver. The woman crashed into a Chevrolet driving southbound and clipped the Ford pickup truck she was trying to pass.

Police say the particular stretch of the road was a no-passing zone.
