An armed man shot dead by a state trooper after allegedly pulling a gun while fleeing a traffic stop in Houma on Monday was identified by Louisiana State Police as 31-year-old Darien Riffe.
Riffe, of Houma, was the passenger in the Ford truck pulled over by LSP.
Jonah Parfait, 46, also of Houma, was driving the truck and was booked on counts of reckless driving, resisting an officer and a felony count of aggravated flight from an officer, state police said Tuesday night.
Riffe and Parfait were on Bull Run Road when state troopers attempted to pull them over as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, state police said.
