MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KAKE) - A 12-year-old girl who was wounded while protecting a classmate during the Annunciation Catholic School shooting in Minneapolis last month has been released from the hospital.
An update on the GoFundMe for Lydia Kaiser says she is now walking and talking. She was discharged from the hospital on Saturday.
"Lydia Kaiser was injured while protecting her little 'buddy' during the first Mass of the school year. Her father, our community's beloved gym teacher, was also in attendance and helped to secure the room, to keep children safe, and stuck with them all until they were reunited with their families, even while his daughter was entering the emergency room," the GoFundMe says. "Lydia and Harry are 2 heroes in our midst."
