ABBEVILLE — Financing for renovation work at the Abbeville County Courthouse was introduced to the Abbeville County Council during its September meeting, but no action was taken.

The ordinance was one of several measures introduced for a first reading during Monday’s meeting. No action is required for first readings. The open portion of the meeting was relatively short, lasting nearly 30 minutes, until an executive session was called to address topics ranging from personnel issues and a contract with Harris Software System to discussion about the Pete Smith Complex. The executive session lasted at least 2½ hours.
