Morning commuters across the Mason Street bridge, officially called the Donald A. Tilleman Bridge, will have to find another way to get across the Fox River on Sept. 16 following an announcement by Green Bay's Department of Public Works.

The department announced Sept. 10 a temporary closure of the Mason Street bridge, which sees 34,200 vehicles daily .

Why is the bridge closing?

The bridge, like all others in Green Bay, closes periodically for cleanings and maintenance in the fall and spring.

This year's fall cleaning of the Donald A. Tilleman Bridge's is a couple months ahead of last year's, which happened Nov. 13 .

Where will traffic be closed because of the closure?

The entire bridge will close from South Ashland Avenue to South Monroe Avenue.
