A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly led to a park in Stockport and raped. The 'terrifying' reported attack occurred at around 9:30pm last night (Tuesday, September 9).
The woman alleges that a man 'approached her and forced her to come with him, whilst holding what she believed could be a firearm.'
They went to Heaton Mersey Park where the woman says she was raped. She was able to 'get free and run to safety' shortly afterwards and the suspect fled, GMP said.
Around an hour later, a 28 year-old man from Manchester was arrested. He has been in custody since.
