(WABI) - Two restaurants in Maine received national recognition by the New York Times.

Pilgrim’s Inn in Deer Isle and Sammy’s Deluxe in Rockland made the Times best 50 restaurants list.

They are two of five restaurants in New England to make the list.

According to the Pilgrim’s Inn website, they serve modern inventive cuisine rooted in the land and sea that surrounds Deer Isle.

Sammy’s Deluxe says they serve exceptionally delicious food in the style of what your grandmother might have cooked if she were a very good cook.

New England’s other three restaurants named on the list are: Haring’s, a seafood shack in Noank, Connecticut; La Padrona, Jody Adams’ Italian restaurant at 38 Trinity Place, Boston; and McGonagle’s, an Irish pub at 367 Neponset Ave., Dorchester, Mass.
