Tuesday night was one to remember for Kyle Schwarber .

The Phillies slugger hit his 50th home run of the season in Philadelphia’s 9-3 win over the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park.

It’s the first time Schwarber reached the milestone.

“It’s cool, right? Get to a nice round even number,” Schwarber told reporters after the game. “It’s cool to hear the stats of how many people have done things before in the game. It’s something that you don’t take lightly.”

The ex-Boston Red Sox player hit the homer in the bottom of the seventh inning and was met with “MVP” chants from the crowd as he came out of the dugout for a curtain call.
