CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Community members, family and friends gathered in Mt. Washington for a vigil mourning the loss of three young people murdered Aug. 31.

Police say Bemnet Deresse and Eden and Feven Adugna, who were sisters, were killed in a triple shooting by Samuel Eriksen . Eriksen turned the gun on himself and later died.

As family members of Deresse spoke they said the loss is being felt all over the country of Ethiopia. All three victims had immigrated from the African nation.

Deresse was a quality engineer, while Eden and Feven were pursuing careers in medicine.

One of Eden’s professors spoke, and he told a story about how his mother was coming to their class. Eden brought flowers to give to his mother.
