CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Three people were shot in two separate shootings near two different Roselawn hookah bars in August.

Meanwhile, just last week, the city filed a lawsuit against a hookah bar in Clifton after multiple businesses and residents voiced concerns that it played a role in a street takeover back in July.

These are the incidents council member Mark Jeffreys said are fueling a push to tighten restrictions.

“These issues are a pattern, and when you see a pattern like this, you layer up and say, ‘okay, what can we do?’” Jeffreys said.

A city spokesperson provided FOX19 with nine lawsuits filed by the city against Hookah establishments and places that serve hookah, dating back to 2023.

Most of them are related to nuisance complaints.
