ROCKFORD, Ill. — Rickie Traeger, the founder of Rockford Scanner, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Rockford.

Rockford PD responded to a hit and run at the intersection of State St. and Alpine Rd. on Tuesday just after 3 p.m. According to witnesses, Traeger's vehicle was driving erratically on E. State St. while speeding.

Traeger came to a stop, quickly changed lanes, and seemed to intentionally rear-end another vehicle, causing two other vehicles to collide. After the crash, Traeger got out of his car and confronted the driver whose car he had hit. He then returned to his car and drove off.

Later, officers found Traeger's vehicle on N. Mulford Rd., and he was taken to Winnebago County Jail. During a further investigation, detectives located over 70 pills they listed as a controlled
