NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Leaders with Bon Secours' Kidz-N-Grief program are marking 25 years of service. The program provides counseling for children and teens coping with loss.

Simone Williams and Ariana Walter with Bon Secours Kids-N-Grief work with children from high school to some as young as 3 years old, helping them cope after losing a sibling or loved one.

"Nobody's ever going to completely get it, but our goal is to show them that there are other children that have had a death loss," said Ariane Walter, Bereavement and Volunteer Coordinator.

Kidz-N-Grief is free for families to take advantage of. The program was created to give children a safe space to process emotions that Williams and Walter say can be hard for children to understand.
