COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri quarterback and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Sam Horn will miss the rest of the 2025 college football season after undergoing surgery to repair a fracture in his right leg, a source familiar with the operation told the Post-Dispatch.
A team spokesperson deferred comment on Horn's status to his agent and the Dodgers. ESPN first reported the extent of Horn's expected absence.
After Horn broke his right tibia during the Tigers' season opener on Aug. 28, there was some optimism he might be available to play football yet this season. Despite the fracture, coach Eli Drinkwitz hadn't ruled Horn out for the year.
That the break required surgery, however, changes his prognosis and Horn will not play football in 2025.
