CLAYTON — St. Louis County Executive Sam Page's criminal case will likely be tried in Springfield, Missouri, according to a filing that became publicly available Wednesday.
Prosecutors and Page's defense attorney have jointly filed for a change of venue to Greene County, home to Springfield, and asked Judge Robert Lasater to issue the transfer order.
Springfield is a city of 170,000 about 200 miles southwest of St. Louis.
The county executive was charged in July with two counts of election offenses, which are misdemeanors, plus two felony counts of stealing, one of $25,000 or more and one of $750 or more.
