BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 58-year-old man whose decomposing body was found Saturday in Mojave had small holes on the left side of his body with dried blood on them, according to a warrant filed in Superior Court.

Sheriff's investigators said in the warrant the death of Benjamin Allan McCleary appeared suspicious.

He was identified Wednesday by coroner's officials. An autopsy was performed and cause and manner of death were pending.

McCleary's body was found at about 12:20 p.m. Saturday on the north shoulder near the intersection of 4th Street West and Trotter Avenue. He was wearing black pants with a black belt, one white sock, blue Avia shoes and no shirt, according to the warrant.

The shoes had blood on them, investigators said.
