HARTLAND, Maine — Two deputies have been placed on administrative leave after a man was fatally shot during a Wednesday morning search in Hartland, according to the Somerset County Sheriff's Office.

At around 5:30 a.m., deputies conducted a search warrant of a home on 98 Main Street.

Deputies reportedly announced their presence and entered the home, the sheriff's office said in a press release. They encountered Isaac Robinson in his bedroom.

Robinson was allegedly armed with a knife and came toward deputies, who commanded him to drop the knife, according to the release.

Robinson reportedly continued approaching deputies without dropping the knife. A deputy and detective then shot Robinson, officials said. Robinson died at the scene.
