UK households have been warned to expect certain breakfast items to surge in price this year. The latest inflation figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages jumped by 4.9% last month. This marks the fourth consecutive monthly rise and the steepest since last February.
