Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA has been shot near his neck in Utah Deseret News reports.

Kirk was doing a question-and-answer event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, and was with hundreds of students. The event was caught on video by multiple bystanders.

A suspect is in custody according to UVU authorities and the campus is on lockdown.

Charlie Kirk is a Scottsdale resident and founder of right wing group Turning Point USA, headquartered in Phoenix. He is a close political ally with Donald Trump and has campaigned with many political figures like Kari Lake and Andy Biggs.

Lake immediately took to X to pray for the Kirk family and speak out against the suspect.
