Cracker Barrel Old Country Store announced its rocking chairs, peg games and nostalgic knick-knacks will remain in its restaurants

On Tuesday, in a statement posted on its website the chain said it is reversing course on plans to remodel stores after online backlash from customers.

“Old country store is here to stay,” Cracker Barrel shared, emphasizing only four out of 660 locations had been remodeled.

“We heard clearly that the modern remodel design does not reflect what you love about Cracker Barrel,” the statement read. “Of course, we will continue to invest in our restaurants to make sure they are in good shape and meet your expectations.”

The remodels were an effort by the chain to modernize and declutter country-themed items decorating the restaurants’ walls.
