EVERGREEN, Colo. ( KKTV /Gray News) - Emergency personnel responded to a Colorado high school for reports of an “active assailant” in the area on Wednesday afternoon.

Jefferson County officials said the activity was first reported at Evergreen High School on Buffalo Park Road in Evergreen

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, at least two students were shot and wounded at the high school.

Officials asked parents not to head directly to the school because of the ongoing investigation.

A reunification center was set up at Wilmot Elementary School on South Hatch Drive.
