TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Friends and loved ones are remembering the man who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run along Highway 20 on Saturday .

Jason Tendler, better known as “Jake” in the Fort Braden area, lived with Richard and Teresa Libert, who considered him family.

“We are absolutely devastated. We can’t begin to express the grief and sorrow of losing Jake. He was the absolute most precious, sweet, gentle, loving, good-hearted and kind person that I have ever known,” they said. “May he forever rest in peace.”

Jeremy Libert, Richard and Teresa’s son, said he hopes the person who hit Jake is found.

“The hit and run happened on his birthday while waiting on a friend to pick him up,” he said. “I really hope the person who hit him is brought to justice soon. Too many people have
