Fire and Flood Emergency Services Ltd. is taking its expertise and patented firefighting technology to California.

The company based in Red Deer County with a large facility near Sylvan Lake and a head office in Burnt Lake Industrial Park demonstrated its high-volume, high-pressure water cannons, pumping systems and water-filled flood barriers that can replace thousands of sandbags at an event on Wednesday.

A mobile water tank showed its firefighting value when a helicopter flew in and used the tank to top up its water bucket as about 200 invited guests, including representatives from all levels of government, First Nations and emergency services first responders looked on.
