Helena voters unofficially passed $283 million in bond issues Wednesday morning by a margin slightly bigger than 1%, moving the district's facilities into the future.
The high school bond worth $240 million — aimed at replacing Helena High School, renovating Capital High School, relocating the central kitchen, developing a new athletics facility and upgrading the Project for Alternative Learning — passed with 11,147 (50.82%) in favor and 10,786 (49.18%) against, according to unofficial results.
In the elementary district, its $43 million cut of the bond issues passed unofficially with 10,630 (50.91%) "yes" votes and 10,248 (49.09%) "no" votes. This bond will rebuild Kessler Elementary School.
