Politicians on both sides of aisle took to social media Wednesday in reaction to the shooting death of Charlie Kirk , the conservative influencer and chairman of the organization Turning Point USA.

Kirk was speaking at a campus event at a university in Utah when he was shot. President Donald Trump announced the 31-year-old husband and father died.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” Trump posted on his Truth Social account. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
