Two young influential Alabama conservatives are remembering Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, with one of them crediting the conservative influencer as the reason why President Donald Trump won the election last year.

“The only reason that Donald Trump is sitting in the Oval Office is because of Charlie Kirk,” Brilyn Hollyhand said during an interview on Fox News.

A Tuscaloosa native, Hollyhand is chairman of the Republican National Committee’s Youth Advisory Committee, and a 19-year-old political commentator and author.

Kirk, 31, a conservative influencer and chairman of the organization Turning Point USA, was shot while speaking at a campus event at Utah Valley University.
