Province plans to inject 90 mares with a contraceptive to prevent fertility for up to three years
Wild horse advocates rallied Wednesday in downtown Calgary to oppose government plans which they say threaten the survival of Alberta’s free-roaming herds.
The Help Alberta Wildies Society (HAWS) organized the rally in response to provincial plans to remove horses from the foothills and inject 90 mares with a contraceptive that would prevent them from giving birth for one to three years.
