A huge blaze has broken out at a recycling centre in Glasgow . ‌

Fire crews have raced to the S. Norton & Co plant on London Road in Helenslea, in the east end, after the inferno broke out at around 7.20pm on Wednesday. The area has been closed off by police while firefighters tackle the blaze. ‌

Explosions have been heard and footage take from the scene, which has been shared with Glasgow Live , shows flames leaping from the recycling plant as thick smoke billows into the sky. ‌

Residents are advised to keep their windows closed and motorists have been asked to avoid the area. There are no reported casualties so far.
