Three students were shot and critically injured at a suburban high school in Colorado on Wednesday afternoon, the authorities said.
The shooting took place just before 12:30 p.m. on the campus of Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado, about 30 miles southwest of Denver, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The students were taken to an area hospital, Jacki Kelley, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, told reporters. The sheriff’s office had said earlier that at least two students had been shot.
It was not clear what had led to the shooting, who fired the shots or if a shooter was in custody. The sheriff’s office did not immediately provide further details on the shooting.
