WASHINGTON — Mayor Muriel Bowser is rejecting the majority of proposals targeting the District that are being considered by Republican members of Congress as a way to continue the Trump administration's incursion on the nation's capital.
In a letter sent Wednesday to the ranking members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Bowser makes her case as to why Congress should respect DC's self-governance.
"I write to you now to ask you to reject 13 of the DC bills before you today that encroach on DC's Home Rule," Bowser says in part.
