CEDAR COUNTY, Mo. — A former resident of Circle of Hope Girls Ranch says abuse she endured there still affects her, even as one of the ranch’s co-founders was sentenced to probation.
Maggie Drew said she lived at the ranch from October 2007 to January 2013.
“By the time that I was finally able to escape and leave, they human trafficked me, they abused me, they neglected me medically,” Drew said. “They broke my back with child labor and just not taking us to seek medical help when we needed it.”
Drew’s claims were included in a civil lawsuit against Boyd and Stephanie Householder. She said she cannot discuss details but that the result was favorable.
Yesterday, on Monday, Sept. 9, Stephanie Householder was sentenced to five years of probation and 120 days in jail, with credit for time s
