SPRINGFIELD, MO - A brand-new car wash, which was built two years ago but had never opened its doors, will finally welcome customers in the near future.

In 2023, Take 5 built a new full-service drive-through car wash at 600 S. Glenstone at the intersection of Cherry Street. It was one of several the company constructed around the city. However, unlike the others, the Glenstone site never held an opening and has sat vacant since its completion.

This week, a Milwaukee-based company announced plans that’ll finally breathe life into the location. Tsunami Express Car Wash said it is purchasing 53 Take 5 locations. The transaction encompasses the businesses in Springfield, including the one on S. Glenstone. The properties are being purchased from Whitstle Express Car Wash, which owns the Take
