MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, a day to provide world-wide commitment and action to prevent suicides.

Coming up later this month, on Sept. 21, the Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention will be held at Wharton Field House, 1800 20th Avenue, check in begins at noon with the walk starting at 1 p.m. and going until 3 p.m.

The event is put on by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Those involved with the walk said it’s all about supporting those who have battled their own struggles with mental health or perhaps those who know someone who has taken their own life.
