MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - Moline leaders honored Barbara Sandberg with the key to the city during Tuesday’s city council meeting.

Sandberg was honored for her decades of dedication to historic preservation and community service, according to a media release.

“Barb Sandberg is a truly remarkable resident who has devoted much of her life to caring for Moline through her service and advocacy,” Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati said in the release.

Sandberg is a charter member of the Moline Preservation Society and has continuously served on its board since 1986, officials said. She also served as First Ward Alderperson after being elected in 1991.
