THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced two more arrests in the deadly drive-by shooting in Thomson.

The shooting happened on Aug. 17 just before 11 p.m. on the 400 block of Edgar Circle, according to officials.

The McDuffie County Coroner’s Office says it responded to Piedmont McDuffie Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim who succumbed to his injuries.

The coroner’s office says 23-year-old D’Corby Benning, of Thomson, was identified as the victim.

Officials say he was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m.

Jacob Deaton, 26, and Jamari Jackson, 21, both of Thomson, are charged with one count of murder, one count of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Officials say Deaton was arrested on Aug.27 in Columbia C
